September 14, 2011USDA’s Wood Education and Resource Center Enlists TTC for Additional Outreach Work
The U.S. Forest Service’s Wood Education and Resource Center (WERC) recently extended its 2010 grant to Technology Transition Corporation (TTC) to continue producing webinars. The 2010 WERC grant was designed to educate the public on the opportunities of biomass thermal energy, including factsheets, interviews, a comprehensive presentation, and a series of webinars. To date, TTC’s client, the Biomass Thermal Energy Council (BTEC), has produced 8 webinars on a variety of topics, including residential, commercial and industrial uses of biomass, policy outlook, air emissions, European examples, finance and public perception.
With the extension, BTEC will draw a focus on regional activities and future developments in the biomass industry.
The mission of WERC is to facilitate interaction and information exchange with the forest products industry to enhance opportunities for sustained forest products production in the eastern hardwood forest region of the United States.
