European Gaseous Fuels Training Institute to Offer Courses

The next European Gaseous Fuels Training Institute courses will be held on 11 and 12 October 2005, followed by another course tentatively scheduled to take place on 30 November 2005.

The three courses available will be the following:

11 October 2005
Generic NGV Training
Topics will include:
  • NGV overview: European & worldwide
  • NGV politics & standards
  • Introduction to light- & heavy-duty vehicle technology
  • Introduction to compressor station technology

12 October 2005
In-Depth Training – Vehicle Technology
Topics will include:

  • Light-duty CNG systems, engine technology & components
  • Vehicle type approval (retrofit & OEM)
  • Dual/mono-fuel heavy-duty engine technology & components
  • Workshop & maintenance

30 November 2005
Safety Training – Natural Gas & H2

Topics will include:

Risk areas, vehicle modification, components, systems, electronic safety devices in light- & heavy-duty vehicles

  • Pressure & cryogenics
  • Regulations & standards
  • Workshop & maintenance
  • Accident handling
  • Hydrogen vehicles
  • Infrastructure & refuelling
